Why are the HURD (and GNU in general, excluding Red Hat who develops the actually useful software like GCC and glibc) developers so incompetent? The OS has been in development since the 90s and the OS is still unusable for the average user. To put into prespective, since 1990, Apple has transitioned from the Motorola 68000, to PowerPC, to x86, and now to their own silicon. Microsoft has released Windows 3.0, 3.1, NT, 95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11. Linux was invented two years later and now is the largest internet server operating system. Meanwhile HURD is chugging along with its "revolutionary" Mach microkernel design (still get a 10% penalty because of it, c.f. to newer microkernels like L4). Even Minix is seeing success in the ME.

Fucking hippie socialists and lack of deadlines

Probably because there aren't many developers, as Linux already exists and nobody cares about Hurd.

>>17772SerenityOS is from 2018 and has more features than the HURD. ManagarmOS is one German dude and a bunch of kids and is a superior microkernel.
